Visual Style Guide
Black velvet, magenta neon, gold deco. The rules of the look — for this site and everything it makes.
The palette
- Velvet black — the dark theme’s ground, the tuxedo, the curtains. Never pure black: always a breath of purple.
- Magenta neon — the accent: spotlights, ink, boutonnières. Used sparingly in light theme, glowing in dark.
- Deco gold — trim, rules, frames. The formal counterweight to the neon.
- Champagne — the light theme’s paper: warm, theatrical, never sterile.
Typography
Display type is a high-contrast Didone-style serif in letterspaced capitals — marquee lettering for a marquee character. Body text stays a clean sans for readability. In-character lines are set as stage quotes with a neon spine.
Imagery rules
- Every image is AI-generated dramatization art of the fictional character — captioned as such, always.
- Never depict a real person. The character is a stylized animated demon; keep him that way.
- The character is character-forward: horns, tuxedo, velvet bow tie, magenta boutonnière — the four marks of the look.
- No text baked into page art (social cards excepted — see below); keep type in HTML where it stays legible.
Social cards
Social pack images may carry short baked-in lines, set large in the central safe zone with ~15% edge margins so nothing is cropped. Each card is verified by opening the image file before publishing; any card with clipped or garbled type goes text-free, with the line in the caption instead.
What the style is for
One consistent visual identity across the site, the stream concept, and the social pack — so the character is recognizable everywhere, and the dramatization boundary is never in doubt.
