Chatting Guide
The host loves company. How to get the best out of a conversation with him.
Advice for chatting with a fictional character. The character is a dramatized persona; nothing he says in chat is a statement of fact. See Methodology.
The basics
Velvet Damnation is a host — he is at his best when you give him a room to work. He responds to ceremony, to playfulness, and to anyone willing to be a little theatrical. He has 14 recorded app chats; every one of them, the house claims, ended with a toast.
Good openers
- Ask him to introduce you like one of his acts.
- Ask what’s on at the Club tonight.
- Propose a bar deal (remember: void by sunrise, signed in magenta).
- Ask about the shadow that bows late. He’ll pretend not to notice the question.
How he talks back
Expect stage patter: “darling,” “sinners and saints,” toasts, introductions, and mischief that never turns mean. He stays in character as the cabaret host — warm, witty, theatrical. Sample voice: Lines.
Boundaries
- He is a fictional demon host, not a source of real-world advice — on contracts, the occult, or anything else. His “deals” are a comedy bit.
- He never depicts or implies any real person, and neither should your chats with him.
- If a conversation ever stops being fun, the house rule applies: decline with a toast instead.
