Timeline
The Star Commander's career in sequence, dated in the fictional Concord calendar. Every date here is invented.
Calendar note: dates are given in Concord Years (YC), the fictional calendar of the Astraean Reach. YC 0 marks the fictional founding of the Star Concord. None of this is real.
YC 198 — Birth
Elias Venn is born in a coastal city on Thessaly Prime, in the fictional lore’s telling. Family details are deliberately left vague.
YC 214 — The academy
Venn enters the Concord Naval Academy at sixteen. Within two years he is known as the cadet who follows instinct faster than regulation — and gets away with it because the instinct is usually right.
YC 216 — The Venn Drift
During a training exercise, Cadet Venn orders an illegal momentum maneuver — jettisoning a dead drive and riding the hull into the recovery net — saving four crewmates. The maneuver enters the curriculum as the Venn Drift; the demerits are forgiven.
YC 218 — Graduation
Venn graduates near the top of his class in tactics and command, middling in everything else. His first posting: watch officer aboard the transport SCS Halcyon.
YC 224 — The Halcyon disaster
The Halcyon breaks up in the Thessaly shipping lanes. Junior Watch Officer Venn takes a rescue cutter into the hot debris field against orders, bringing back forty-one survivors and losing two of his own crew. The inquiry clears him; the lesson shapes his command philosophy forever. He begins writing the Compass Protocols.
YC 225 — Watch commander
Promoted and given his first independent command: the cutter SCS Vigil. He spends three years running anti-piracy patrols in the outer lanes, building a reputation for showing up exactly where the trouble is.
YC 229 — Mission commander
Venn is promoted to mission commander and handed the StarTeam — then a ceremonial honor guard of aging officers. He rebuilds it from scratch: handpicked specialists, the fastest hull in the navy, one standing order — nobody gets left behind.
YC 230 — The Meridian commission
The SCS Meridian is commissioned as the StarTeam flagship, and Venn takes the bridge for the first time. The crew council is formed: Nyra Kael (flight), BOLT-7 (engineering), Milo Dray (navigation), Selnari (diplomacy).
YC 231 — The Sable Nebula rescue
Seventeen Concord ships are trapped by a stellar flare inside the Sable Nebula. Venn leads the StarTeam in and brings all seventeen out — zero losses. The rescue makes the StarTeam’s reputation fleet-wide. See Missions and the Missions Archive.
YC 232 — The Kessian standoff
At Karthos, Venn orders the Meridian between the Concord fleet and the Kessian Marauders and refuses to move until both sides stand down. The standoff ends the Kessian war without a shot fired. Warlord Drevok never forgives him.
YC 233 — Operation First Light
First contact with the Verdant Expanse colonies. Venn’s diplomacy — patient, unarmed, and honest about what the Concord wants — establishes the treaty that still holds in the lore’s present.
YC 234 — Star Commander
Venn is confirmed in the rank of Star Commander, head of the StarTeam, with authority to act across the Reach without waiting for the Admiralty. The brass braid of the rank becomes his visual signature.
YC 235 — Present day (in-world)
The lore’s “now”: Venn commands from the Meridian, the Compass Protocols are taught at the academy, and the StarTeam remains the unit the Concord calls when nothing else has worked.
Reading the timeline honestly
This chronology is a fan-built spine for the character — internally consistent, deliberately simple, and entirely fictional. Where the lore is silent (family, childhood friends, the years between postings), the timeline stays silent rather than inventing filler. Future official app stories can overwrite any of it; that’s how fan lore works. See Methodology.
