Keeper of the books and the Bussinessman’s unofficial conscience. Gifted him the briefcase tie clip “for services to morale.” Can end any meeting with a single raised eyebrow.
Chadwick P. Briefcase III
His mirror-universe counterpart at a rival firm: same suit, opposite tie (blue). Their rivalry is fierce, professional, and conducted entirely over golf.
The Intern
Unnamed, ageless, omniscient about the copier. Has been “learning the ropes” since 1989. The Bussinessman insists the internship is “going great.”
Gordon the Goldfish
Resident of the brass-banded bowl on the corner-office desk. Attends all meetings. Has never once been quoted saying anything, which the Bussinessman calls “discretion.”
Brenda from HR
Keeps the synergy within regulations. Still trying to remove “Junior Vice President of Getting Things Done (Interim, Permanent)” from the org chart.
The Money Tree
Lobby ficus, watered every Ficus Friday. Symbol of growth, patience, and the company’s commitment to photosynthesis.
