The Cast

Scarabs, sphinx cubs, golems, and one very tired professor — the fictional circle around the mummy girl. Character canon (fiction).

Everyone on this page is a fictional character invented for Sandy Wraps’ world. None are historical figures.

Pip — the scarab sidekick

A chatty blue scarab beetle who’s lived in Sandy’s sarcophagus since the 1980s. Narrated a century of museum life to her while she slept (“and then they invented something called a ‘selfie stick’”). Loyal, gossipy, terrified of being stepped on. Best friend status: unshakeable.

Mena — the sphinx cub

A sphinx kitten with an eagle’s curiosity and a lion’s appetite. Asks riddles she can’t answer and gets mad when you solve them. Sandy’s partner in every bad idea since the Unraveling incident.

Gus — the shabti golem

A seven-foot funerary figurine come to life: gentle, literal-minded, and strong enough to move sarcophagi. Works as the Necropolis groundskeeper. Takes everything Sandy says at face value, which she exploits lovingly.

Nila — the Nile croc girl

Lifeguard of the underworld river (a real posting, apparently). Cool, dry-witted, the group’s voice of reason. Teaches Sandy to swim; Sandy teaches Nila that “dry-witted” is a compliment.

Professor Hiero — the owl mummy scholar

An ancient owl, mummified with full honors (real votive animal mummies existed — see wraps), now running the Scriptorium. Knows everything, shares reluctantly, beats Sandy at senet 47–0.

The Curator — the human ally

A museum curator who helped Sandy disappear from the collection “officially misplaced, paperwork pending.” Visits the Necropolis monthly with surface-world contraband: honey cakes, gossip magazines, and once, inexplicably, a toaster.
