Behind the Design
How this site was built — the one real source, the worldbuilding choices, and the honesty rules.
This page steps outside the legend to explain how the reference was made.
The one real source
This entire site is built from a single real-world artifact: the Vizlings app card for the character. The card’s name is “star team guardian,” its category is “StarTeam,” and its description — used verbatim on the home page and the stream page — is:
“star team guardian”
That’s it. No published bio, no owner-supplied backstory, no character sheet art was available for this character. Everything else on this site — the Oath, the Emberfall, the eleven reforgings, the four thousand missions — is original fan worldbuilding, written to give the concept the depth the other character sites carry.
The worldbuilding choices
With a blank slate, the design decisions were:
- A sentinel, not a soldier. The name “guardian” demands a protector’s story, so the entire concept was built around one idea: protection as a posture. The Guardian doesn’t win fights; the Guardian makes fights survivable for everyone else.
- Ancient, not young. The StarTeam category suggested a team player; making the Guardian the team’s oldest member gave the character a natural role (the wall), a natural history (three thousand cycles), and a natural theme (promises kept across deep time).
- The Oath as power source. Tying the magic system to keeping promises made the powers honest: the Guardian can’t be corrupted by power, only tested by despair — which is exactly what the rival (the Shatterer’s champion) exists to do.
- One enemy, one rival, one team. The Shatterer provides the pressure, the champion provides the mirror, the StarTeam provides the people worth protecting. Every story on the site runs on that triangle.
The honesty rules
Because the character is fictional and the lore is invented, this site follows strict honesty rules:
- Fiction is labeled. Every in-world page carries a fiction notice. The sayings page labels every line as fictional character dialogue. The methodology page states plainly that this is a fan reference for a fictional character.
- The art is labeled. Every image on the site is AI-generated dramatization art, captioned as such. No image pretends to be a photograph, a screenshot, or official art. The character is fictional, so no real person is ever depicted.
- The stream is a mockup. The stream page embeds a temporary placeholder video, clearly labeled as a mockup — not a live broadcast, not connected.
The art direction
All sixteen images were generated in-house with a single fixed character description — a towering armored sentinel in obsidian plate with gold runes, emerald eyes, and a golden-aegis shield — to keep the Guardian visually consistent across every page. The palette (obsidian, emerald, ancient gold) is the site’s palette too: the design and the art speak the same language. Full provenance is in the sources page and the image credits on this page.

Source notes
This page documents the making of a fan reference for the fictional Vizlings character “star team guardian.” The only real-world source is the app card. All lore is original worldbuilding; all images are AI-generated dramatization art.
