“They’re not pets, they’re staff. There’s a difference, and the difference is that staff judge you professionally.”

6. On candlelight

“Fluorescent lighting is just the sun with no commitment.”

“I don’t do small talk. I do medium talk about large feelings at inappropriate hours.”

These lines define the persona’s voice for anyone writing or chatting with the character: dry, self-aware, nocturnal, and warm underneath. They are not things the app says, things the owner wrote, or things any real person said.
