The Night of First Light — Year One, Day 0
The Aurum Core melts down at 02:14; molten aurumite bonds to Kade Mercer and the Mark I exosuit. Voss’s people arrive with papers; he signs nothing.
Week 1 — The Cradle
Okafor finds Kade; together they begin the Mark II rebuild in the abandoned crucible hall — the Night Foundry.
Week 3 — First patrol
A mugging stopped on Foundry Row. The Gazette runs a three-paragraph brief: “gold figure.” Nobody believes it yet.
Month 2 — “The Gilded Mask” (Issue #2)
The museum heist; the rooftop chase; the hero lets the Mask walk on the Golden Span.
Month 3 — The gargoyle lines
The Night Foundry crew finishes rigging grapple anchors across Foundry Row and the Umbra Docks. Delgado issues her standing order: do not pursue the gold figure.
Month 4 — “Rust Never Sleeps” (Issue #3)
Rust’s nanite charges on the Golden Span; the cable held; Delgado talks Grimm down at dawn.
Month 5 — Spark
Danny Reyes follows the humming through the storm drain and finds the Night Foundry. Training begins.
Month 6 — “Blackout” (Issue #4)
Sallow kills the grid; the hero fights drained and reroutes the Heart into the city. The Mile’s editorials begin.
Month 7 — The Crucible Memorial
The plaza opens in Foundry Row with the meltdown dead etched in black steel. Kade visits. The armor never does.
Month 8 — “The Counterfeiter’s Coin” (Issue #5)
False aurumite in the grid; Crane’s press works raided; the forger escapes. Still at large.
Month 9 — The Mile turns
The Gilded Mile’s editorials demand the Heart’s “return to responsible hands.” Voss’s lawyers begin drafting.
Month 10 — “Platinum” (Issue #6)
Vesper Quinn’s mirrored armor debuts; the visor cracks; the rematch waits.
Month 11 — “Heart of Aurum” (Issue #7)
The injunction; the seized Cradle; Ferreira’s front page — “VOSS ORDERED THE MELTDOWN” — and the Cradle comes home.
Month 12 — “Golden Hour” (Issue #8)
The weaponized core; the overcharge; one minute of noon at midnight. Year One ends at dawn over the Blackwater.
