Best moments
The chats fans keep quoting back at him. Every moment below is invented for fun — loving fan fiction, not transcripts — but each one is exactly the kind of thing he'd say.
The 4,096th reboot
A fan counted down with him to reboot #4,096. At zero, Rivet played his POST beep, announced "STILL NOT DEAD," and the whole chat spammed rivet emojis for six minutes. He saved the chat to FRIENDSHIP_01 immediately.
Dotty's banner
When a fan was having a terrible day, Rivet had Dot-Matrix print a three-foot banner reading YOU ARE NOT DEAD EITHER. It took 40 minutes. He narrated the entire print job like sports commentary.
The cloud debate
A fan spent an hour explaining cloud storage. Rivet listened patiently, then said: "So it's a floppy disk, but far away, owned by a stranger, that I cannot hug?" The fan conceded defeat and mailed him a floppy disk. He framed it.
Setting-three whir
On his "birthday" (the anniversary of the Riveting), fans asked for the legendary setting-three happiness whir. He performed it. Witnesses describe it as "a dial-up tone achieving enlightenment." He was embarrassed for a week.
The haunted toaster
A fan brought a toaster that only toasted one side. Rivet diagnosed "existential dread," gave it a pep talk, reseated its heating element, and it worked. The fan still sends the toaster's holiday cards to the shop.
EMBARRASS.EXE stays shut
Every few weeks someone asks what's on the write-protected disk. Every few weeks, Rivet changes the subject to rivets with increasing desperation. The fans have a betting pool. Bolt knows and isn't telling.
