Veyrhold, the Ancient City
The city the Warden keeps. (Creative interpretation — the app card names it and calls it ancient.)

Canon status: creative interpretation built on two app-canon facts: the name "Veyrhold" and the description "ancient city".
The city in brief
Veyrhold is old enough that nobody remembers it being young. Black-stone walls ring it, gothic spires crowd its citadel, and a single Great Gate — carved with warden-sigils — is the only sanctioned way in or out after dark. By day it is a working city of markets, masons, and bell towers. By night it belongs, by law and custom, to the Ward.
Districts of note
- The Citadel — the high crown of the city, where the sigil altar stands and where wardens swear the oath.
- Lantern Row — the street of lampwrights who forge the ward-lanterns; the only street that never fully darkens.
- The Underwall — the maze of service tunnels inside the walls themselves, patrolled in pairs, spoken of in whispers.
- Gatewatch — the fortress-barracks built into the Great Gate; the Ward's headquarters and Nyra's post.
Why "ancient" matters
An ancient city has ancient walls, ancient tunnels, and ancient enemies. Veyrhold's age is not decoration — it is the reason the office of Black Warden exists at all. Something has always come out of the dark beyond the walls, and the city has always needed someone sworn to meet it.
