Words of the Warden

Ten lines in Nyra's voice. All creative interpretation — the app card gives her no dialogue.

Canon status: character-voice interpretation. None of these lines appear in the app. They are written for this site in the Warden's voice, for fans and for the social pack.

The ten lines

1. "The wall does not sleep. Neither do I."
2. "Violet is the color of the oath. Black is the color of its cost."
3. "I am the Black Warden of Veyrhold. The night is my jurisdiction."
4. "Fear the dark if you must. I am its warden."
5. "Every lantern on the wall is a promise I intend to keep."
6. "The gate holds because I hold it."
7. "Moonlight is the only witness I require."
8. "Oathbreakers are not forgiven. They are answered."
9. "Stand behind me, and the dark will not have you."
10. "Veyrhold endures. So do I."

On her voice

Short sentences. No ornament. Nyra speaks the way she patrols — economically, and as if every word were a lantern being lit. She does not explain herself twice.
