Methodology
How this site was built, what counts as canon here, and the honesty rules every page follows.
What this site is
A fan worldbuilding site for Coral Splash, an original fictional character from the Vizlings app (Elementria world). One site in the semblance.com character network. Built 2026-09-26.
The canon ladder
- App canon: the in-app character card, quoted verbatim on Meet the Character. One truncated sentence. This is the only official material used.
- Fan lore (this site): everything else — written by this site's editors, labeled as fan fiction on every page.
- Open water: deliberately left blank — her parents, the card's missing ending, the deep beyond the reef. Reserved for future app canon or future fan stories.
Honesty rules
- Fiction is labeled. Every page carries a note stating its content is fan-made. In-character dialogue is labeled as fictional dialogue.
- Nothing is presented as real-world fact. Coral Splash is fictional; the site never claims otherwise.
- The card is quoted verbatim. Including its truncation. We don't complete the sentence.
- Art is labeled. Every image is captioned and recorded as AI-generated dramatization art. No official Vizlings artwork is reproduced or imitated as official.
- The stream is a mockup. The embedded video is a clearly labeled placeholder, not a live broadcast. No channel ID is invented.
How the site is built
Static HTML pages generated from editorial markdown by a small Python build script (`tools/build.py` in the project directory). Styling is pure CSS/SVG — a sunlit coral reef theme (coral pink, turquoise, sunshine rays, bubbles, rounded type), individualized for Coral Splash and distinct from the network's other sites. Light and dark themes via a toggle. QA checks (one h1 per page, alt text, link resolution, sitemap/canonical correctness) run via `tools/qa_check.py` and must pass fully before any publish step.
Corrections
Found a place where fan lore is stated too confidently, or where the line between app canon and invention blurs? That's a bug. The fix is more labeling, not less.
