Abilities

Coral Splash's powers, as imagined by fans: bubble magic first, tide-calling second, reef-song third — and a tail that wins races.
Bubble magic
Her signature art. Where most reef mages treat bubbles as decoration, Coral Splash treats them as a medium. Fan lore credits her with:
- Bubble-speech — shaping bubbles into pictograms to talk with creatures who don't share her language.
- Bubble-lift — big, strong-walled bubbles that can carry objects (and once, a whole anchor stone).
- Bubble-shields — quick, springy domes that bounce rather than break.
- Bubble pranks — itching-powder plankton, glitter bursts, and the infamous whoopee-foam. Brine the turtle has banned three of these by name.
Tide-calling
A classic sea-dragon gift: nudging currents, summoning gentle upwellings, calming chop. Coral Splash's tide-calling is unusually playful — she's better at making water dance than making it obey. Her Splash Spiral, a rising corkscrew current with her riding the crest, is her showpiece and her race-winning move.
Reef-song
She hums. The Sunlit Shallows hum back. In fan lore, reef-song is a low, thrumming harmony that steadies nervous fish, coaxes coral polyps open, and — during storms — talks big waves down into small ones. Coral Splash doesn't fully control it; she describes it as "singing with the reef, not at it."
Dragon traits
- Amphibious sparkle: equally at home below the waves and leaping through them into sunlit air.
- Pearl-hard scales: soft to friends, surprisingly tough when she tumbles through coral at race speed.
- Current-sense: she feels water pressure the way others feel wind — never lost, even in the murk.
- Tail of champions: the engine of her whirlpool-racing career.
Limits (fans are honest about these)
She can't breathe fire (she's tried; it just makes steam and embarrassment). Deep abyssal pressure bothers her — she's a sunlit-water dragon. And her bubble pranks have a failure rate the reef chronicles politely as "educational."
