Lore

The fan-built origin story of Coral Splash: a hatching-day morning, a runaway bubble, and the day the Sunlit Shallows got its splashiest resident.
Hatching day
Coral Splash hatched on the first sunbeam-warmed morning of the Coral Bloom, in the nursery gardens of the Coral Court. Fan lore holds that her egg — pearl-shelled, warm to the touch — bobbed gently in the nursery current for weeks while the reef held its breath. When she finally cracked through, witnesses (a seahorse midwife and three very unreliable guppies) agree on one detail: her first act was to blow a perfect bubble ring, sneeze inside it, and laugh.
The nursery years
Young sea-dragons of the Tidewater Reefs are raised communally in the coral nursery, and Coral Splash was, by every account, the nursery's brightest handful. She learned to swim before she could properly roar. She organized the other hatchlings into bubble-blowing choirs. She once rearranged the entire nursery current system "to make it more fun," flooding the kelp classroom — an incident still cited in reef parenting circles.
Her mentor in those years was Brine, an old sea turtle who had coached generations of reef youth and claimed nothing could surprise him anymore. Coral Splash made it her personal mission to prove him wrong. She succeeded weekly.
The runaway bubble
The story every reef kid knows: at the Festival of Tides, young Coral Splash was meant to perform the traditional Bubble Blessing — one small, dignified bubble released over the court. Instead she got excited, over-blew, and produced a bubble the size of a whale shark, which lifted the festival's anchor stone, drifted over the crowd, and popped in a shower of glittering foam that everyone agreed was the best festival ending in living memory.
The Coral Court, rather than punishing her, did something smarter: they made the giant festival bubble a tradition. It's still called the Splash Blessing.
Finding her waters
As she grew, Coral Splash ranged wider — down to the twilight slopes, up to the sun-dappled surface, through the kelp forests and the singing caves. But she always came home to the Sunlit Shallows, the bright warm reef where she hatched. "The whole ocean is wonderful," she says in fan dialogue, "but the Shallows are where the light does the dancing."
What the lore leaves open
Fan lore deliberately leaves gaps: who her parents were, why her egg was pearl-shelled, and what lies beyond the reef's edge. Those are open water — for future app canon, or future fan stories, to fill.
