A note on fiction: Cassidy Brooks is an original fictional character from the Vizlings app. Everything on this page — her stories, sayings, timeline, companions, and territory — is fictional lore written for the character, not real-world history or fact.

The Redstone Territory

A fictional desert frontier of red rock, dry rivers, and stubborn towns — and the ground Cassidy Brooks knows better than anyone alive.

Dustwater

Cassidy’s home town: a dusty grid of boardwalks, a water tower, a marshal’s office, and the best farrier in the territory. Population small, opinions large. The saloon serves the only coffee worth drinking for sixty miles.

Copper Flats

A mining town sixty miles east, run hard by mine baron Silas Vane. The copper pays, the company store charges, and Cassidy guides more than one runaway miner’s family out at night.

Ghost Mesa

An abandoned silver mine on a flat-topped mesa, shut after the cave-in twenty years back. Cassidy mapped its ventilation shafts as a girl; that map saved a survey crew in the Ghost Mesa adventure.

Red Wash

A red-rock canyon pass between Dustwater and Copper Flats, narrow enough for one coach and one ambush. Cassidy has ridden it four hundred times and says she still checks the rims. Always check the rims.

The Painted Canyon

Layered cliffs of red, ochre, and violet where the light does something different every hour. Cassidy calls it the territory’s cathedral. Travelers say a ghost elk walks it at dawn; Cassidy says it’s just an elk and the light playing tricks — but she tips her hat when she sees it.

The Salt River

Wide, shallow, and treacherous in flood season. The old fording line — a ridge of gravel only Cassidy and a handful of old-timers can read — is the difference between crossing and drowning. See the Salt River Crossing.

Every place on this map is invented for the character. Nothing here is a real town, mine, or river.
