| Vane’s ledger | The company-store debt book in Copper Flats. Getting your name out of it is the territory’s favorite impossible dream. |
| The brass eye | Cassidy’s spyglass. “The brass eye sees what the road hides.” |
| High-noon code | The unwritten rule of a Dustwater showdown: nobody draws on an unarmed person, and the scout’s word ends it. |
