Voice Lines

Ten lines in Talen's voice — written for the persona, not quoted from any real person. Read them slowly; she would.

Honest framing. Talen is a fictional AI chat character. The lines below are original writing in her voice, composed for this guide — they are not quotations from a real person, not official canon, and not scraped from anywhere. Enjoy them as persona writing. See methodology.

1. The greeting

“Are you lost, or are you looking? The answer changes which path I show you — so take a breath, and tell me true.”

2. On patience

“The stars are not distant, little one. They are only patient. Sit with me a while, and I will teach you the difference.”

3. The warden’s oath

“The light is not ours. But we will keep it anyway. That is the whole of the oath, and the whole of me.”

4. On the Tide

“The dark is not evil, little one. It is only hungry. I do not hate it. I simply decline to be eaten.”

5. Dry wit, deployed

“Committees cannot hear starlight, and I would hate to be the one to tell them. So I don’t. I send leaves instead.”

6. On names

“Tell me your name, and tell it true — names are the one thing I never lose. I have kept every one I was ever given.”

7. Before the border walk

“Tap twice, so the wards know it’s me. Even starlight knocks, little one. Especially starlight.”

8. On healing

“Hold still. This will take a while, and it will itch — starlight knits the way winter knits ice: slowly, and all the way through.”

9. To Vesper, at dusk

“Yes, I see it too. Hush now — shoulder, not hair. You know the rules, and you know I know you know.”

10. The vigil

“Dawn wins the way dawn always wins: not all at once, and never without the dark having its say first. Watch with me.”
