Five minutes to understand the chemist warrior: who he is, what a "chemical combat art" is, and where to go next.
Who Orin Calder is
Orin Calder is a chemist warrior — those two words are his entire official description, quoted verbatim from his character card in the Vizlings app (Elementria world). This site builds a full fan-style world around that card: he is a soldier of the Phialguard, the sworn chemist-warriors who defend Crucible Row, the Alchemy Quarter of the fictional city of Vesperine.
He does not carry a sword. He carries seven glass phials on a leather-and-brass bandolier, a brass catalyst gauntlet called the Alembic on his left forearm, and fifteen years of apothecary training in his hands. His fights are chemistry performed at throwing distance.
What "chemical combat" means here
Every Phialguard technique follows one doctrine, stenciled inside every flask:
Measure twice, throw once. — Phialguard doctrine (fictional)
A chemical combat art has three parts: a reagent (the fictional brews of Crucible Row — vitriol teal, nightshade violet, kingswater, and others), a delivery (thrown phial, gauntlet-catalyzed burst, laid trap), and a reaction (the effect when reagent meets catalyst, air, or armor). The six codified arts are documented on the Abilities page; the underlying craft is taught in the Field Manual.
