Methodology
How this fan codex was built, and the honesty rules it follows. Written 2026-09-26.
What this site is
A fan-style worldbuilding codex for Orin Calder, a fictional character from the Vizlings app (Elementria world). It was built outward from the character's two-word app card — "chemist warrior" (verbatim) — into 23 pages of original lore, plus a stream concept and a social art pack.
Honesty rules
- Fiction is labeled as fiction. Every page carries the premise in its lede or notes: Orin Calder, Vesperine, Crucible Row, and everyone in them are invented. The site footer repeats it.
- The canon is quoted verbatim. The app card description "chemist warrior" appears in quotation marks, attributed to the Vizlings app, wherever it is used. It is never paraphrased as canon.
- Dialogue is labeled as dialogue. Every in-character line is suffixed (fictional dialogue) and the In-Character Lines page states plainly that the lines were written for this site.
- Missing information is not invented. The owner's full character bio has not been released; the Meet the Character page carries an honest placeholder instead of a fabricated biography.
- Art is labeled as art. Every illustration is AI-generated in-house (), captioned and alt-tagged as "AI-generated dramatization art," recorded in the image credits on this page, and depicts no real people.
- No real-world claims. Reagents, places, and procedures are story-world inventions. The Field Manual states explicitly that nothing in it is real chemistry.
Build method
- Editorial written as Markdown in editorial/, rendered to static HTML by a build script (tools/build.py).
- One shared template: skip link, theme toggle, nav, single h1 per page, canonical + Open Graph tags, footer with the fiction disclaimer.
- Images generated in-house, masters kept in images/, served from site/build/images/ with a provenance record.
- QA: automated checks (routes, h1 count, alt text, link resolution, image existence, forbidden placeholder text, sitemap/canonical/robots correctness) must pass fully before any publish step.
Limitations
- The codex's lore is invented and may be superseded if the owner releases official material (e.g., the full character bio) — the Design Notes changelog will record any reconciliation.
- The stream concept, schedule, and sample scripts are concept-only; no channel, dates, or episodes exist.
- This methodology describes a fan work, not a scholarly apparatus: "sources" here means honest attribution of invention, not real-world evidence.
