Sources

What this site is built from — stated plainly, because fiction deserves honest sourcing too.

Fiction, plainly labeled. This page lists the real-world ingredients of a fictional reference. See Methodology.

The character concept

The Vizlings app roster (~/workspace/vizlings-roster/roster.json): the “Mara Kest” character card — name, slug mara-kest, category StarTeam. The card description, “A poised and courageous Starteam heroine dedicated to...”, is quoted verbatim on the home page. The roster entry is truncated there; no fuller official text was available at build time.

The lore

All backstory, chronology, dialogue, worldbuilding, missions, and relationships on this site were written for this fan reference by its editors, expanding the character card into a consistent fictional world. There are no other sources because there is no other material: no published stories, no official timeline, no licensed dialogue. The fiction bible used for consistency (names, Concord Cycle dates, techniques, geography) is documented in Behind the Design.

What this means in practice:

Sayings: every line on the Sayings page is invented dialogue, labeled as such. None are real quotations.
Timeline: the Concord Cycle calendar and all events are invented.
People: Mara, her crew, Vane, Kaelis, and every named figure are invented characters. No real people are depicted or described.
Places: the Stellar Concord, its worlds, and all locations are invented.

The images

All images on this site are AI-generated dramatization art, made in-house in September 2026. Every image is captioned and labeled as AI-generated dramatization art; no image depicts a real person. The full list, with per-image subjects and alt text, is in the image credits on this page in the site’s images directory.

What this site is not

Not an official Vizlings publication.
Not canon unless the character’s owner says so.
Not a source of real-world facts of any kind.

How to cite this reference

This is fan work, so cite it as fan work. Suggested form: “Mara Kest fan reference (fan-built, fictional lore), mara-kest.sembrance.com, accessed [date].” If you quote the app’s card description, note that it comes from the Vizlings app roster. If you quote a saying, note that the dialogue is fan-written fictional character dialogue — because it is, and the next reader deserves to know.

What changed, and when

Build 1 (2026-09-26): initial 24-page reference; 19 AI-generated images; stream page ships with the owner-supplied mockup video clearly labeled as a placeholder.
