Mara Kest, in Reference

Warden-Captain of the StarTeam. Poised, courageous, and dedicated to the Stellar Concord — a fan-built reference for a fictional character.

Meet the character

The app’s character description (verbatim): “A poised and courageous Starteam heroine dedicated to...”

The description above is the character card text from the Vizlings app, quoted exactly as it appears in the app’s roster (it is truncated there). Everything on this site is a fan-built expansion of that concept: Mara Kest is a fictional character, and all lore here — her backstory, her world, her words — is invented character-world fiction, not real history and not real quotations. For the full honesty policy, see Methodology.

Who she is

Mara Kest is the Warden-Captain of the StarTeam, the peacekeeping order of the Stellar Concord — a fictional federation of worlds in the Vizlings StarTeam concept. She commands the cruiser Dawnwarden and a crew of specialists who answer distress calls across Concord space: evacuating colonies, charting dead star lanes, and standing between civilians and the raiders of the Void Covenant.

Her signature is the solar lance — a spear of channeled starlight — and the Aegis of the Warden, a shield of golden energy she raises over anyone under her protection. Her creed, repeated across the fleet, is simple: hold the line, and the stars hold you.

Where to begin

Why this site exists

Character reference sites for real people must be careful with facts. Character reference sites for fictional people must be careful with a different thing: never letting invention masquerade as reality. This site holds that line everywhere. Every page carries the same promise: this is fiction, built by fans, for fans — and anything presented as Mara’s words, history, or world is invention, plainly labeled.
