Methodology
The rules this site follows — especially the ones for writing about a living person.
A living subject
King Charles III is alive, and this site applies a living-person standard throughout:
- Neutral framing. No partisan commentary, no gossip, no psychoanalysis. Descriptions stick to documented actions and words.
- No speculation. Health, private relationships, and undisclosed matters are reported only as officially stated. The palace’s February 2024 cancer announcement is reported; the type and stage were not disclosed and are not guessed at.
- Right of reply in structure. Where claims are contested (the cash donations, the memos), the palace’s stated position is included alongside the reporting.
- Privacy boundary. Leaked private material is described, not reproduced.
Quotation policy
- Verified: traceable to a primary source (official transcript, broadcast record, published text). Cited with the source.
- Reported: widely repeated in reputable outlets but not traced to a primary source by this site. Labeled as reported; never presented as verified.
- Unverified; do not attribute: lines from fiction, misattributed internet quotes, or claims without a source. Excluded from the verified set and flagged where discussed.
- Paraphrase is never presented as quotation. Ellipses in quotations are marked; emphasis added is noted.
Uncertainty flags
- Estimated: figures like television audiences, which are reported estimates, not counts.
- Approximate: financial figures, which move year to year and are dated in the text.
- Disputed: claims where reputable sources disagree — both positions are given.
- Reported: single-source or secondary-source claims, attributed in the text.
Dates
Dates use documented evidence: the event date where known, the announcement date where the event date is not public. The accession is dated 8 September 2022 (the death of Elizabeth II); the proclamation 10 September 2022.
Image honesty
- Real photographs only for the historical and biographical record — every one logged in
the image credits on this pagewith source, artist, license, and hash. - Never generate fake photos of a real person. The site’s AI-generated images depict a fictional animated cartoon character for the owner’s Vizlings “King Charles” stream project — labeled AI-generated dramatization art on every appearance, and never photorealistic.
- Character sheets and other private style references are never displayed on public pages.
Corrections
Errors are corrected, not silently edited: substantive corrections are noted in the affected page’s Source notes with the date.
Source notes
- This methodology was written for this site (2026-09-26) and applies to all pages.
- Living-person standards follow the general practice of reputable reference works; no single style guide is adopted wholesale.
- See sources.md for the source list and the image credits on this page for image provenance.
