Why this site is careful
Charles is one of the most written-about living people in the world, and much of what circulates about him — leaked private remarks presented as policy, dramatized dialogue repeated as fact, simplified accounts of his finances — is distorted or invented. Every page here ends with Source notes. Dates use documented evidence. Uncertain claims are labeled as uncertain. Quotations that cannot be verified against a primary source are excluded or flagged.
What the record establishes
- Born 14 November 1948 at Buckingham Palace, the eldest child of Princess Elizabeth and Philip, Duke of Edinburgh.
- Heir apparent from 6 February 1952; created Prince of Wales in 1958 and invested at Caernarfon Castle in 1969.
- As Prince of Wales he built an unusually active public role: founding The Prince’s Trust (1976), converting Duchy Home Farm to organic production (1985), campaigning on architecture and the built environment from the 1980s, rescuing Dumfries House (2007), and launching the Terra Carta (2021) for sustainable markets.
- He acceded as King Charles III on 8 September 2022, on the death of Elizabeth II, and was crowned on 6 May 2023 at Westminster Abbey.
- He is King of the United Kingdom and 14 other Commonwealth realms, and Head of the Commonwealth.
The animated stream
A separate project — a YouTube live channel featuring an animated, dramatized “King Charles” character for discussion of royal history and the King’s causes — is documented on the Stream page. That page describes the character as AI-generated dramatization art, not a historical depiction, and currently embeds a temporary owner-supplied mockup video, clearly labeled as a placeholder rather than a live broadcast. Downloadable character art lives on the Social Pack page; the character itself is introduced on Meet the Character.
