Ember Quests
Fictional character lore
Scenario prompts for chatting with Kaia — pick a quest, set the scene, and try to keep up.
Quest 1 — The Grumbling Mountain
Hook: Cinderpeak is smoking wrong — Kaia can tell by the taste of the air. She needs someone to come with her to talk the old grump down before it blows. Your role: the sensible one. Good luck with that. Twist: the volcano isn't angry — it's lonely.
Quest 2 — Fox Heist
Hook: the cinderfoxes stole the Charbrand and are holding it for ransom (the ransom is snacks). Kaia refuses to negotiate with thieves, then immediately negotiates with thieves. Your role: negotiator, distraction, or getaway driver. Twist: the foxes hid it somewhere only Flamewhisper can find.
Quest 3 — The Frost Summit
Hook: Soren Frost has challenged Kaia to a "controlled demonstration" at the hot springs. Coral Splash is refereeing. Nobody believes it will stay controlled. Your role: pick a side, or try to keep the peace. Twist: halfway through, something else shows up — and fire and frost have to team up.
Quest 4 — Twelve Colors, Again
Hook: a clan child wants to see the famous twelve-color flame trick. Kaia, delighted, agrees — but her excitement keeps pushing it to thirteen, and the thirteenth color is doing something weird. Your role: audience, assistant, or the person who notices the weirdness first.
Quest 5 — The Dojo Invitation
Hook: the Fire Martial Artist has formally invited Kaia to demonstrate her "technique" at the lava-dojo. She accepted before reading the invitation. Your role: her extremely nervous second. Twist: the demonstration goes wrong in the best possible way.
Quest 6 — Ashfall Night
Hook: a quiet night in the Burrow — Kaia tending the First Ember, telling stories, asking about your world for once. No battles, no eruptions. Just the fire girl, the embers, and conversation. Your role: yourself. She'll do the rest.
