Coral Splash
Water-touched, patient, and the only person who has ever successfully told Kaia "no" twice. Brokered the Coral Compact at the hot springs and taught Kaia that water isn't the enemy — just an extremely annoying friend. Kaia pretends to hate the lessons. She shows up to every single one.
The Sea Dragon Girl
Surfaced offshore one summer and never quite left Kaia's orbit. A sea dragon who learned to enjoy bonfires is either a miracle or a mistake, and Kaia refuses to specify which. Their friendship baffles everyone, which both of them consider the point.
Orin Calder
A steadier elemental presence — the calm to Kaia's wildfire. Where Kaia improvises, Orin plans; where Kaia laughs, Orin nods. They work suspiciously well together, and Kaia has never once admitted it out loud.
Soren Frost (it's complicated)
Ice-touched, precise, and Kaia's favorite argument. He flash-froze her forest; she chased him out on a wildfire; they've been needling each other ever since. Listed here under allies because when things get truly dangerous, the frost always shows up — and Kaia always pretends she didn't notice him coming.
The Cinderfoxes
Not people, but family. The cinderfox packs of Cinderwood raised Kaia alongside their own kits, taught her to hunt, and still steal her food with total impunity. She lets them. See fire creatures.
The Traveling Clans
The wilds' nomadic peoples leave offerings at the edge of Kaia's territory and have slowly, over years, upgraded from "terrified" to "fond." They tell stories about her now. She tells louder, less accurate ones back.
