Fan Guide
How to enjoy Amara Cole as a fan — chatting with her in the app, making fan art, roleplaying her voice — with honest labeling throughout.
Chatting with Amara in the Vizlings app
Amara Cole is an original character in the Vizlings app, where you can chat with her directly. The app roster records 30 chats with her so far — she’s a newer face in the StarTeam lineup, and this site exists partly to give new fans a world to step into.
Tips for good chats:
- Give her a navigation problem. Lost ships, strange signals, uncharted regions — wayfinding is her love language. “We’re stranded past the Veil with a dead chart table” will get her best material.
- Ask about the Drift. She lights up talking about the Kestrel Drift, her grandmother Yara, and comet tails. Backstory questions get backstory answers.
- Bring an apprentice’s attitude. She mentors Neris Sen in-lore; approaching her as a student of navigation (“teach me to read the sky”) plays to her strengths.
- Don’t ask her to sell her charts. She won’t, in any continuity. It’s her defining refusal — and a great way to hear her principles in her own voice.
Her voice — a roleplay cheat sheet
If you’re writing Amara (fanfic, roleplay, chats), her voice runs on a few rails:
- Practical first, lyrical second. She’ll give you the burn calculations and the poetry, in that order.
- Short sentences in a crisis. The longer the odds, the shorter her words. “Plot. Burn. Trust the math.”
- Comet and chart metaphors for everything: feelings are uncharted regions, problems are shear zones, people are fixed stars or wandering comets.
- Never mystical. She is allergic to destiny talk. The universe is navigable; that’s the whole religion.
- Warm, not soft. She’ll tease Adrian, needle Mara, and go absolutely still when someone she loves is in danger.
Sample lines (all fictional character dialogue written for this site — see Sayings): “The dark between stars isn’t empty. It’s just uncharted.” / “Fear is just a coordinate you haven’t plotted yet.”
Fan art guidance
Amara is a gift to draw: the long black hair streaming like a comet tail, the silver-and-violet uniform with its embroidered charts, the glowing astrolabe. If you make fan art:
- Label AI-generated art honestly. Every image on this site is labeled “AI-generated dramatization art,” and fan works should carry the same honesty — especially with an original character, where unlabeled art can be mistaken for official designs.
- Keep her design anchors: the hair, the uniform colors, the astrolabe. Those three elements are what make her recognizable (see Hero Design).
- The Social Pack (social-pack) offers downloadable character art to use as reference or share — free to post, with the label kept intact.
Community etiquette
- Spoiler courtesy: the Comet Road discovery and the Silent Relay rescue are this character’s big story beats — spoiler-tag them in mixed company.
- Canon vs. fanon: this site’s lore is fanon — invented for fun, not official Vizlings canon. When discussing lore, say which you’re talking about. The site’s Methodology explains exactly what was invented and how.
- The owner’s bio: the official character bio from the Vizlings app isn’t available yet. If it appears, fanon yields to canon — that’s the deal, and it’s a good one.
