Behind the Design
How this fan site was made — the lore bible, the image pipeline, and the honesty rules that keep invention clearly labeled. Full transparency, no mystique.
What this site is
This is a fan reference site for Amara Cole, an original fictional character from the Vizlings app. It was built as one production run: research the app’s roster record, invent a consistent universe around it, write ~24 pages of lore, generate all artwork in-house, and publish as a static site. No official canon was harmed — or consulted, because for this character almost none exists yet.
The starting point: one card description
The entire official record for Amara Cole, from the Vizlings roster, is:
body star black hair female
The lore bible
Before any page was written, a lore bible fixed the facts so all 24 pages agree:
- Character: Amara Cole, stellar navigator/scout, StarTeam; young woman, very long black hair, silver-and-violet uniform with embroidered star charts, Starlume Astrolabe.
- Calendar: STC (“StarTeam Charter”), present day STC 44.
- Signature elements: star charts, deep-space reconnaissance, comet imagery — the Comet Road discovery, the Cole Passage, comet-riding.
- Cast: fellow StarTeam app characters (Elias Venn, Mara Kest, Adrian Halden, Niko Raal, Cass Arden, Aeron Skyrift, Neris Sen, Star Team Guardian) with fan-written roles; invented rivals (Kael Vex, the Umbral Combine).
- Rule: nothing on the site contradicts the card description; everything invented is labeled as invented.
The images: in-house, labeled, consistent
All 20 images were generated in-house (no external generators, no stock, no real people anywhere). Character consistency was held with a fixed description string used in every prompt: “a young woman with very long straight black hair, silver-and-violet StarTeam scout uniform with embroidered star charts, glowing violet astrolabe compass at her belt.”
Every image on the site carries the caption label “AI-generated dramatization art — an illustration of a fictional character, not a real person,” and all 20 are recorded in the image credits on this page with their source (“AI-generated in-house ”).
Text policy for images: no baked-in text except where it could be kept inside a central safe zone — in practice, this site’s images are text-free, with all words living in the HTML captions where they can’t be chopped or misspelled.
The site design
The visual design is an original starlight theme — silver and violet nebula on deep indigo, comet-streak headings, constellation dividers, star-chart plate image frames — built to give Amara her own visual world, distinct from every other character site. Light and dark themes toggle via a button and persist in localStorage. The design is pure CSS/SVG; no framework, no tracking.
The honesty rules
The rules this production ran under, stated plainly:
- Fictional means fictional. Every lore page says so. The Sayings page labels every line as invented dialogue. The Methodology page states the whole project is fan invention.
- Real things stay real. The one real-world box on the site (stargazing tips in Training Regimen) is labeled as real-world; everything around it is labeled as fiction.
- AI art is labeled. Every image, every page, the social pack, the stream art — “AI-generated dramatization art,” always.
- The mockup is a mockup. The stream page’s video is a temporary placeholder, labeled as such, with no invented channel IDs.
- Missing is missing. The owner’s bio isn’t available; the site says so instead of inventing one.
Source notes
This page describes the production of a fan site for Amara Cole, an original fictional character from the Vizlings app. All lore discussed is invented; the production facts (image pipeline, file locations, design decisions) are real. Images are AI-generated dramatization art; see the image credits on this page.
