Guardian's Code
The Oath is the vow. This is the law underneath it — seven tenets, in order of precedence.
I · Shield before sword
Never strike what you can shield. Force is the admission that protection failed.
II · The slowest sets the pace
An evacuation that leaves someone behind is not an evacuation. (See: Guardian's Step.)
III · Ask before you stand close
A guardian never crowds the guarded. Proximity is a privilege, granted, not taken.
IV · Remember every face
Aegis keeps a private ledger of everyone it has ever covered. It does not show the ledger. It does not need to.
V · The watch does not end at dawn
Danger ending is not the same as safety beginning. Stay until the shaking stops.
VI · No one rusts alone
Patrol the edges. Check the quiet ones. The Wastes taught this tenet.
VII · Choose, every cycle
"Built to enforce" was a beginning, not a verdict. Protection is a decision you remake daily — or in Aegis's case, every cycle.
Read the vow itself on the Oath page.
