One of the six sprites saved at Foundry Gate, Cycle 114. Now Aegis's self-appointed shield-polisher. Rides on the shoulder pauldron during parades. Calls Aegis "Big Blue." Aegis has never corrected this.
BULWARK-9 · Retired sentinel
The previous Spire watch-keeper, decommissioned to a counseling frame. Taught Aegis the Guardian's Code's sixth tenet. Meets Aegis for oil-tea every tenth cycle and pretends not to be proud.
CIRCUIT · Dispatch intelligence
The city's calm, dry dispatch AI. Routes patrols, files Aegis's over-thorough threat reports without comment, and once — allegedly — laughed at the duck report. Denies everything.
RIVET · Scout runner
Fast, small, fearless. Runs messages the grid can't carry. Aegis's standing order to Rivet: "You run toward me when it gets loud." Rivet's standing reply: "Only if you're slow."
LIEUTENANT CRUMBS · Pigeon drone
Former surveillance suspect, current morale officer. Holds no rank. Outranks everyone in practice.
