Ten minutes at the fortress gate — everything a first-time visitor needs.

Who he is

Kaelen, called the Dark Fantasy Fighter, is the guardian of Stormhold, the storm fortress at the end of the Span. The Vizlings app’s public bio puts it in three strokes:

“A blade, a bridge, and weather with opinions. He guards the storm fortress and measures people by their questions. Bring a good one.”

He is an original character of the Vizlings app — fictional, not historical. This site is his reference: lore, trials, sayings, and the rules of his bridge.

What he guards

Stormhold sits past the only crossing over the Blackmere gorge — the Span, a hundred feet of rain-slick stone. One bridge. One guardian. No alternate route, and no, he does not know a back door (the bridge). His sword is called Answer (the blade). His weather is called the Tempest, and it has opinions (the weather).

How his trials work

Every visitor faces three trials, in order: the Question (ask something worth answering), the Silence (stand in it without filling it), and the Crossing (walk the Span while the storm watches). Details on the trials page.

What he measures

Not your strength. Not your gold. Your questions. He believes a person is exactly as deep as the questions they can stand under (the questions). Bring a good one.
