The Palace Map
Every corridor of the fictional Silverkeep Palace — throne room, practice yard, stables, kitchens, and the east balcony — mapped for adventurers. A site-written location; no real place is depicted.
The castle at a glance
Silverkeep Palace sits on the castle hill above the city of Silverkeep: white walls, silver spires, royal-blue banners, and — counted once by a bored page — 412 stairs from the gatehouse to the east balcony. The map below is the writers’ invention, drawn for storytellers, not surveyors.
The great hall
The palace’s beating heart: long oak tables, a minstrels’ gallery, and the high table Willian cheerfully abandons for the squires’ benches. Scene of feasts, the Feast of Lanterns, and at least one punch-bowl circlet incident. Capacity: the whole court plus half the city, at a squeeze.
The throne room
Torchlit, banner-hung, and rarely used — Valoria’s council governs from a smaller chamber, and the throne room is reserved for oaths, receptions, and dramatic entrances. The row of royal-blue banners before which Willian swore his oath stands along the north wall.
The practice yard
Behind the stables: packed earth, quintain, pell (Sir Straw), and the record board. The noisiest corner of the palace from dawn to noon. See The Prince’s Training.
The royal stables
Twenty stalls, Maren’s absolute rule, and Moonmane’s corner suite. The true throne room, per palace consensus. See The Royal Stables.
Tilda’s kitchen
The warmest room in Silverkeep and its real seat of power. Copper pots, the great oven, the honey-cake cooling racks (guarded), and the midnight summit table. All important meetings end up here eventually.
The schoolroom
Sage Corvin’s domain: books, maps, a globe Willian has spun into a game, and the engraved soup doctrine on the wall. Site of forty-one questions per lesson.
The east balcony
The quietest place in the palace: a stone balcony over the river valley, two chairs, and the best stars in Valoria. Reserved, by unspoken law, for Willian, Old Fenwick, and the second half of stories.
The gatehouse and walls
Manned by the palace guard — who all know Willian by name, have all been bribed with honey-cakes, and have all, to a person, pretended not to see him sneak out at least once.
