The Royals World Map
Every storybook realm needs a map — here is Katy's world, from the palace gates to the lands beyond the roses.
The Rosewater Palace (the heart)
Blush-stone walls, gold-trimmed spires, at the exact center of everything. If the map has a “you are here” star, it is planted in the palace courtyard, slightly crooked, like a certain tiara.
The Sunlit Ballroom (the sparkle)
East wing, tall windows, chandeliers like frozen fireworks. The floor has been polished by ten thousand twirls and shows no signs of stopping.
The Rose Garden (the lungs)
South of the palace, rows upon rows of roses with the gardeners’ cottages at its edge. Katy’s dawn walks trace the same loop every morning; the loop is marked on the staff map as “the Katy circuit.”
The Ribbon Hall (the memory)
North wing, a long gallery of kept ribbons from every royal event, with the Memory Drawer at its far end. Visiting children are allowed to touch exactly one ribbon each. Choosing takes hours.
The Kitchens (the engine)
Below stairs and above all reproach. The head baker’s domain, the site of weekly kitchen teas, and the true engine room of the palace. On cake days, the kitchens outrank the throne room.
The Throne Room (the welcome)
Smaller than visitors expect, warmer than protocol demands. The dais steps Katy descends for every greeting; the embroidered cushion reading “Sit kindly.”
The Library (the quiet)
West wing, window seats, beloved storybooks read to softness. Katy’s crying page is not marked, but the staff all know which one it is.
The Balcony (the dawn)
Overlooking the rose garden — site of the Morning Curtsy, countless dawn teas, and the Pigeon Summit. Honorary court pigeons roost nearby, by decree.
The Lands Beyond
- The Ribbon Markets — the traveling fairs where the Master of Ribbons sources forty-seven shades. Katy attends in disguise (a different ribbon; everyone recognizes her immediately).
- The Storybook Realms — neighboring lands that send the visiting friends: musicians, knights-errant, merchant-princes with improbable hats.
- The Golden Hour Hills — where the light does that thing Katy loves, every single evening, on schedule.
Reading the map
This atlas is editorial world-building: an original, playful geography for a fictional world, drawn to match the storybook-royal concept. It is not official Vizlings lore. The illustrated map in the Social Pack is the artistic companion to this page.
Honesty notes
