The Great Hall

If the walls are Rook's body, the Great Hall is Rook's heart.

Creative interpretation — not app canon
Honesty note. No official description of Rook was available — the character card in the Vizlings app was cut off at the screenshot edge, and no public bio exists. Everything on this page is a clearly-labeled creative interpretation of the Rook persona, built from the name alone. It is not official app canon. See Method & Sources.

The room

Long oak tables, a hearth big enough to stand in (Rook has, once, to prove a point to Pip), and banners on every wall — deep amber, each bearing the rook-tower emblem. The ceiling beams are ship timbers from wrecks Rook pulled off the cliff rocks; every beam has a ship's name carved into it, and Old Tobin can tell you the story of each one.

What happens here

  • Supper, nightly: anyone within the walls eats. Travelers, staff, the pigeons (crumbs). No one pays; the valley villages supply the hall and the hall supplies the valley in lean years.
  • Story night, weekly: travelers trade tales for their supper. The best story of the month gets carved — abbreviated — into a Naming Stone.
  • Storm shelter: when the gale hits, the whole cliff population fits in the hall. Rook does the Lighting early and the feast starts sooner. Storms are practically festivals.

Rook's seat

There isn't one — Rook is too large for the benches and too restless to sit through supper. Instead Rook stands by the hearth, "warming the room," and listens. Visitors who've eaten in a hundred taverns say the same thing: nobody listens like the hall's keeper does.
