A note on canon. Rhea Stormwake is an original fictional character from the Vizlings app. The only app-canon facts used on this site are her name, her pirate persona, and her official card description (quoted verbatim on Meet the character). Everything else here — her ship, crew, voyages, and words — is clearly-labeled creative interpretation written for fans, never presented as app canon.

Sea Legends

What the taverns say when the rum runs low and the lanterns burn lower. Creative interpretation — every legend labeled as a tale.

Creative interpretation. These are in-world tavern tales — stories about Rhea told by fictional sailors, not claims about the character or the app.

The Whistled Storm

Told in every port from Brassport to Gullgrave. Becalmed off the Pale Tide with the Pale Fleet closing, Rhea climbed to the maintop and whistled — three notes, low to high — and the storm came up out of a clear sky. The fleet scattered; the Wake ran before the wind she'd called. Rhea's only comment, ever: "I whistle when I'm nervous. The weather is coincidental. Mostly."

The Grey Maw's Toll

Told by the survivors of the Iron Psalm. They say the reef-maze let the Wake through because the ship paid a toll — a barrel of rum poured over the side at the maze's mouth, and Rhea's own words: "Drink up, Maw. We're square." Sailors still pour a tot over the side when they pass the Maw, just in case.

The Storm's Debt

Told by Old Caspian Holt, usually after his third cup. The storm owes Rhea money — that's the whole legend. Every gale she outruns is a payment on the account. When lightning walks the rigging and nobody's hurt, Holt taps the mast and says, "There's another installment." Rhea had it painted under the stern windows: "The storm owes us."

The Captain Who Outdrank the Doldrums

Told wherever sailors are becalmed and bored. Twenty-one days without wind, and Rhea kept the crew sane with stories, rum rations, and a wager: anyone who spotted wind first got her own cabin for a week. Pip Wren won. Rhea slept in a hammock for seven days and claimed it was the best sleep of her life. The crew still isn't sure she was joking.

The Parley at Knife's Edge

Told by Lysandra Quill's people. Rhea once negotiated the Salt Truce with seven pirate captains while standing on an upturned boat in a storm surge, because the tavern they'd booked had burned down that morning. "The sea wanted a say," she said, "so I gave it a seat at the table."

The Ninth Bell

Told in a whisper, after closing. They say the Wake carries nine bells from a sunken choir, and that on the anniversary of the Night of Nine Wrecks, all nine ring at once with no hand touching them — one for each ship the storm took, and one for the captain it gave back. See Treasures.
