Patch Scenes
Episode-style scenes starring Patch. Fan-written fiction — imagine the static, the sparks, and the world's flattest delivery.
01 Scene: "Warranty Void"
INT. PATCH'S JUNKYARD CORNER — NIGHT. Rain hammers the corrugated roof. PATCH solders by work-lamp light. A small, trembling DELIVERY BOT rolls in, one wheel squeaking.
DELIVERY BOT: "Excuse me — my warranty says I'm entitled to a factory repair, but the factory says I'm... expired?"
PATCH: (not looking up) "You're not expired. You're experienced."
DELIVERY BOT: "They said my model is obsolete!"
PATCH: "They say a lot of things. Sit."
PATCH flips the bot over with one wiry arm, yanks the squeaking wheel, replaces it with a bottle cap and a prayer.
PATCH: "There. You're now 40% bottle cap. That's an upgrade. Don't tell the factory."
DELIVERY BOT: "How much do I owe you?"
PATCH: "Get out of here before I get sentimental."
The bot rolls out, squeak-free. PATCH watches it go, then sticks a tiny star sticker on the workbench. Tally: 1,204.
02 Scene: "Rooftop Static"
EXT. ROOFTOP — 3AM. PATCH sits on the ledge, hood up, sharing silence with RIVET, a boxy old construction bot.
RIVET: "You ever think about what we were built for?"
PATCH: "No."
RIVET: "Never?"
PATCH: "...I was built from a bin labeled MAYBE SOMEDAY. I think about it less than you'd expect."
RIVET: "And the hoodie?"
PATCH: "The hoodie was built for NO. We're both doing great."
Static hums. The city glows. Neither of them moves for a long time. It's the most peaceful scene in the district.
03 Scene: "The Negotiation"
INT. NULL MARKET — NIGHT. PATCH faces SKINFLINT, a merchant bot with too many arms, over a "gently haunted" circuit board.
SKINFLINT: "For you, my friend — forty cells!"
PATCH: "No."
SKINFLINT: "Thirty-five! I'm losing money!"
PATCH: "No."
SKINFLINT: "You haven't even countered!"
PATCH: "Twelve."
SKINFLINT: "TWELVE?! That's robbery!"
PATCH: (turning to leave) "Fourteen, then. For the entertainment."
PATCH walks away with the board for fourteen cells. SKINFLINT is furious. SKINFLINT is also smiling. Everyone at the Null Market agrees: never haggle with Patch.
