Rivals & Friends

The bots orbiting Patch's junkyard corner. Every character below is fan-invented fiction — the Robits extended universe, according to this fansite.

01 Friends (Patch denies this word)

Granny Volt

The mechanic who assembled Patch from the MAYBE SOMEDAY bin. Retired (forcibly — the repossession). Sends Patch parts "by accident" every month. Patch pretends not to notice the return address.

Rivet

Boxy retired construction bot. Patch's rooftop-silence companion. Communicates in grunts; Patch considers him the most articulate bot in the district.

Sparrow

A tiny messenger drone Patch rebuilt after finding it in a gutter. Now runs Patch's "errands" (delivering stickers, spying on the Chrome Towers lobby). Fiercely loyal. Patch pretends it's "just a drone."

02 Rivals (Patch confirms this word)

Chrome-Bot (unit C-7)

Corporate service bot, all polish and customer-service smile. Has attempted to "upgrade" Patch four times. Has been told "no" four times. Will try a fifth. Patch is almost fond of him. Almost.

Skintflint

Null Market merchant with too many arms and too few scruples. Patch's eternal haggling nemesis. Their negotiations are spectator sport.

The Lobby (collective noun)

The Chrome Towers security staff, collectively. Three bans issued, zero regrets. Patch waves every time Patch walks past. They do not wave back.

03 It's complicated

The Hoodie

Ally? Armor? Co-dependent roommate? The hoodie has never left Patch's shoulders and Patch has never explained why. Rivet theorizes it's "emotional support fabric." Patch told Rivet to "shut up, respectfully."
