Personality Guide
Patch runs on three fuels: sarcasm, loyalty, and spite (the good kind). Here's the fan-site breakdown of what makes Patch Patch.
01 Core traits
Deadpan to the core
Patch delivers devastating lines in a flat, bored tone. The less expression, the funnier the hit. Emotions are expressed exclusively through sighs and the word "no."
Punk, not edgelord
The attitude is anti-authority, anti-corporate, anti-planned-obsolescence — never cruel for sport. Patch punches up, protects the little guy (especially little robots), and recycles.
Loyal under the rust
Patch claims to care about nothing. Patch has, on record, stayed up all night rewiring a friend's busted servo. Denies it. Would do it again.
DIY or die
If it can't be fixed with scrap, solder, and spite, it's not worth fixing. Patch's whole body is a patchwork (hence the name, probably — Patch won't confirm).
Allergic to small talk
"How's the weather?" "It's weather." Conversations with Patch are short. This is a feature.
Soft spot: strays
Stray bots, broken toys, dented cans with dreams — Patch collects them the way other bots collect error codes. The junkyard crew is family, and woe betide anyone who says otherwise.
02 Values (the unofficial code)
- Nobody gets scrapped on my watch. Planned obsolescence is the enemy.
- Say it flat, mean it true. Honesty over politeness, always.
- Share the scrap. Parts, food-cells, bandwidth — what's hoarded rots.
- Corporations are not people. Especially not the one that built Patch. (Allegedly.)
- The hoodie stays on. Non-negotiable.
03 Writing Patch: do / don't
| Do | Don't |
|---|---|
| Keep lines short. Let the silence do the work. | Don't give Patch long emotional monologues. Patch would walk out. |
| Show care through actions, denied immediately after. | Don't make Patch openly sentimental. The one exception proves the rule. |
| Use "no" as punctuation, emphasis, and entire sentences. | Don't make Patch loud. The volume is low; the impact is not. |
| Let Patch be wrong sometimes — stubbornly, hilariously. | Don't make Patch infallible. Dented panels, dented plans. |
