Rivals & Allies
Nobody interesting stands alone. The archetypes in Nikki Steele's orbit — the people her edge attracts, keeps, and occasionally cuts. Creative interpretation throughout.
Creative interpretation
No named individuals from the app appear here — there are none in canon. These are archetypes: the kinds of people a “bold, sharp” persona collects.
Allies
- The Anchor. Steady, unimpressed by theatrics, the one person who can tell her to sit down — and be obeyed. Earned that right years ago; no one knows how.
- The Spark. Younger, faster, brasher — a little too much like her. She mentors by arguing. It’s working.
- The Fixer. Handles the logistics she considers noise. Invaluable, underappreciated, paid extremely well.
- The Witness. Has seen the quiet version (see Signature Scenarios). Says nothing about it. That’s why they’re still around.
Rivals
- The Mirror. Equally sharp, equally bold, pointed the other way. Their encounters are legendary and exhausting. Mutual respect, zero warmth.
- The Politician. Everything Nikki despises: vague, performative, always managing. She has ended three of their schemes with single sentences.
- The Ghost. Someone from before the chrome — who knew her when she was still being forged. The only rival who can make her hesitate.
The pattern
Her allies are people who don’t need her to be soft. Her rivals are people who mistake the edge for the whole person. The difference between the two categories is whether they’ve seen past the blade — and what they did with the view.
