Five minutes on who she is, what the record shows, and how to read this site.

The short version

Meghan Markle (b. 4 August 1981, Los Angeles) is an American former actress who became the Duchess of Sussex on marrying Prince Harry in 2018. She is best known for three distinct public chapters:

  1. The actress (2002–2017): guest roles and game-show work leading to seven seasons as Rachel Zane on Suits, filmed in Toronto.
  2. The working royal (2018–2020): patronages, tours, and advocacy work as a senior member of the British royal family.
  3. The California chapter (2020–present): the Archewell Foundation, Netflix and podcast projects, a children’s book, and a lifestyle brand.

Before any of that, she was already a public advocate: a 2015 speech for UN Women and field work with World Vision are on the record, and she ran the lifestyle site The Tig from 2014 to 2017.

One honest caveat

No public biography from the character’s owner exists for the Vizlings “Meghan Markle” character; the roster card text is fragmentary. The animated-character side of this site is documented separately on Meet the Character, and it is kept strictly separate from the factual reference material.
