Methodology
How this site earns trust — especially for a living president.
The living-figure rule
Emmanuel Macron is alive and in office. This site therefore holds itself to a stricter standard than for historical figures:
- Neutral, encyclopedic tone. No endorsement, no partisan framing, no attack language, no loaded labels adopted as fact.
- No invented facts. Dates, figures, and quotations appear only where documented. Polling figures are not invented or cited from memory.
- Quotations are verbatim, each with venue and date. Paraphrase is never presented as quotation.
Verification ladder
- Official records (Élysée, Interior Ministry) for dates, offices, and results.
- Reputable international reporting (Reuters, AP, The Economist, NPR) for events and quotations.
- Contemporaneous French press where it is the best available record — flagged as such.
- Reported-but-unconfirmed material is either omitted or explicitly labeled; it is never asserted.
Uncertainty policy
Where a date is approximate, a translation varies, or outlets disagree (e.g., 2024 seat totals by classification), the page names the uncertainty and identifies which classification or translation it uses. Corrections are made openly when new evidence arrives.
Imagery honesty
- Real photographs only for historical and current events — from Wikimedia Commons, with verifiable PD/CC licenses, honest captions, and full provenance in
the image credits on this page. - AI-generated art only as clearly stylized cartoon dramatization of the Vizlings character — always captioned “AI-generated dramatization art — not a historical depiction.” No photorealistic depiction of Macron is ever generated.
What we omit
Private-life speculation, unsourced anecdotes, and partisan talking points have no place here. If a claim cannot be traced to a reputable source, it does not appear — or it appears labeled as unverified.
Source notes
These standards govern every page on this site. Questions or corrections: see the sources page for what each claim rests on.
