Five minutes, three ideas: who Cass is, what an EVA specialist does, and how this site keeps fiction and fact apart.
The one-paragraph version
Cass Arden — full name Cassian Arden, callsign EVA-1, nickname “The Suit” — is the extravehicular-activity specialist of StarTeam, a rapid-response crew based aboard the orbital flagship Starhold Vigil in the fictional Meridian Sector. He is a character from the Vizlings app, officially described only as a “Body space suit hero.” Everything else — his history, his missions, his dialogue — is fan-built lore documented on this site and labeled as invented.
What does an EVA specialist actually do?
EVA means extravehicular activity: work done outside a spacecraft, in a pressure suit, in vacuum. In the StarTeam fiction, Cass is the crew’s answer to every problem that can’t be solved from inside the hull:
- Rescue: reaching drifting crew, failed suits, and stranded craft before their air runs out.
- Repair: hull breaches, dead solar arrays, jammed docking mechanisms — fixed by hand, outside.
- Recovery: intercepting tumbling cargo, dead satellites, and debris with a maneuvering rig.
- Boarding support: getting StarTeam onto derelicts and damaged stations through openings no docking clamp can use.
His tools are his suit — the AEGIS Mark VII “Longhaul”, orange and graphite, covered in mission patches — and his Driftline maneuver rig, a backpack jetpack for precision flight in zero gravity. His rule is the one stenciled inside his helmet: “The suit is the mission.”
The world in thirty seconds
- The Meridian Sector: the stretch of settled space StarTeam protects — habitats, stations, shipyards, and shipping lanes.
- The Concord of Habitats: the civilian alliance that funds StarTeam. Cass grew up on one of its habitats, the Meridian Ring.
- The Starhold Vigil: StarTeam’s orbital flagship and Cass’s home base.
- The threats: debris storms, failing legacy stations, and the Jackals — rogue salvagers who strip wrecks (and sometimes make them).
- The calendar: in-world dates use Star Cycle (SC). “Now” on this site is SC 1219. The calendar is invented; Methodology explains why the site uses one.
How to read this site
Every page follows the same honesty contract:
- Fiction is labeled fiction. Lore pages describe the invented world as a world — but the Methodology page and the footer of every page state plainly that it is invented.
- Dialogue is labeled dialogue. The Sayings page collects signature lines as fictional character dialogue — invented for the concept, never presented as real quotations.
- Images are labeled images. Every illustration is captioned “AI-generated dramatization art.” None depicts a real person.
Your next three pages
- Lore — the backstory: habitat kid to EVA-1.
- Abilities — the spec sheet of what he can do.
- Sayings — twelve lines in his voice (invented, labeled).
Or jump to the Timeline for the full in-world chronology, Team for the crew, or the Fan Guide for art, watch order, and community notes.
Three lines you’ll see everywhere
Three sentences recur across this site because they recur across the fiction. Learn them now and the rest clicks into place:
- “The suit is the mission.” — the rule. Everything outside the hull depends on the suit holding, so the suit comes first, always.
- “Nobody drifts alone.” — the promise. No solo EVA without a buddy on the line; no crew left adrift, ever.
- “Come home with the crew. That’s the whole job.” — the definition of success. Not the record, not the mission accomplished — the crew, home.
All three are fictional character dialogue, invented for the concept — collected with nine more on Sayings.
Source notes
- Character identity: Vizlings app card, “Cass Arden” (StarTeam), card description “Body space suit hero.”
- All lore summarized here is invented by this site’s writers; full statement in Methodology.
- In-world dates use the invented Star Cycle (SC) calendar.
