Relaxation rituals
Four rituals. No equipment needed except water, patience, and a willingness to be gloriously unproductive.
Dawn float
Enter the pond as the mist lifts. Float on your back for the length of one slow sunrise. Think of nothing. If a thought arrives, let it ripple away. This is the foundation of the whole practice.
Ripple watch
Sit at the pond's edge and drop a single pebble. Watch the rings travel outward until the water is still again. That is the whole ritual. Repeat as the heart requires.
Lotus breathing
Find a lotus. Breathe in while it seems to open; breathe out while it seems to rest. Botanists note lotuses do not open and close on your schedule. capybara notes that this is precisely the lesson.
Dusk settle
As the light goes gold, choose your nap form (see nap techniques) and commit. The day is done; it went fine; the pond will keep.
