Table games
Twist Draft
Each player draws a fairy tale and a twist from the twist gallery — the Reversal, the Mirror, the Kindness Twist — and retells the tale with that twist in under three minutes. Hardest mode: the Kindness Twist on a villain’s story.
Clue Hunt
One player tells a five-minute story with a single buried clue; the rest interrogate. If the audience finds the clue before the twist lands, the storyteller owes the table a confession (misdirection-style, of course).
The Chronicler’s Gauntlet
One player is the Chronicler: deadpan, footnoting everything, immune to charm. The Liar (whoever draws the mask) must make the Chronicler break — laugh, gasp, or correct a footnote with feeling. The Chronicler has never broken. Yet.
Solo challenges
- Eleven masks journal: write the same day’s events from three different “masks” — the Innocent, the Rival, the Ghost. Notice which one felt truest. That’s the one to watch.
- The planted clue: rewrite a story from this site with the clue moved earlier. Does the twist still land?
- No Mask day: tell only true stories for 24 hours, but tell them like a trickster — pacing, pauses, and all. Discover how much of the magic was never the lying.
Scoring
There are no points in mischief, only gasps. But if your table insists: one point per genuine gasp, two for a laugh mid-twist, five for making the Chronicler smile. The Magpie accepts gasps as currency; the house does not give change.
