Neon Starlight City — the city that never turns down. A tour of its avenues, alleys, and stages. Fan-written fiction.
The city
Neon Starlight City is a port city that rebuilt itself around entertainment — every street glows, every corner has a busker, and the ambient noise level is “concert.” Tansy arrived with a bus ticket and a microphone; the city, which collects loud dreamers the way other cities collect rain, made room.
Places that matter
Pop Avenue — the main drag, billboards stacked to the sky. Tansy’s face isn’t up there yet. She visits weekly to “check on her future spot.” The billboard crew knows her by name.
Arcade Alley — bleeps, neon, and the rhythm-game cabinet where Tansy tied Static for the championship. Her high score initials are still there: TNY. Static’s are next to them: STC. The rivalry has a leaderboard.
Bubble Tea Boulevard — Tansy’s workplace and second home. Beans’ shop (see below) anchors the block; the regulars have a standing table with her name Sharpied on it.
Starlight Stadium — the 4,000-seat dream. Amateur showcase, Battle of the Bands, the blackout duet — every milestone in her story happened under its roof. She knows which backstage door sticks.
The Rooftop — above the arcade, accessible by fire escape, city lights on every side. Tansy’s quiet place. No performances here — just bubble tea, Melody, and the sky. The one place she allows silence.
Mrs. Plum’s (back home) — the small-town karaoke bar where it started. Tansy sends postcards. Mrs. Plum displays them behind the bar like platinum records.
The rhythm of the city
Fridays: open-mic nights (Tansy’s church). Saturdays: the championship ladder at Arcade Alley. Monthly: the Starlight amateur showcase. Yearly: the Battle of the Bands, where Tansy vs. Static headlines and the city picks sides with merch.
