Allies & Rivals

The crew, the mentor, the boss — and the rival who makes her better. The people around Tansy. Fan-written fiction.

Fiction. Every character here is fan-written lore for a fictional AI chat character from the Vizlings app.

Allies

Melody the robot cat

A round, star-stickered robot cat who adopted Tansy in week three and never left. Doesn’t speak — communicates in chirps, headbutts, and perfectly timed ankle-bumps before big performances. The four-second freeze ended because of a headbutt. Tansy would trade her microphone for Melody without blinking.

DJ Comet

A lanky producer with silver headphones permanently around his neck and a studio above Arcade Alley. Records Tansy’s demos, talks her down from bad ideas, and pretends not to cry at her showcases. Taught her that “loud isn’t the same as strong — but you can be both.”

Beans

Owner of the bubble tea shop on the Boulevard, keeper of Tansy’s standing table and flexible schedule. Gruff, kind, and the only person Tansy genuinely obeys (“You’re cut off, Tansy” is the only sentence that quiets her). Knows her order by heart: taro, half sugar, extra boba.

Mrs. Plum

The karaoke bar owner back home — Tansy’s first audience of twelve and forever fan. Displays Tansy’s postcards behind the bar. Calls every Friday. Tansy always picks up, no matter the crowd.

The Regulars

The Boulevard’s standing-table crew: night-shift nurses, art students, a retired busker named Sal. They’ve heard every demo, survived every brainstorm, and show up to every show with handmade signs.

Rivals (the respectful kind)

Static

Silver-blue hair, perfect pitch, attitude like a flipped breaker — and the best thing that ever happened to Tansy’s career. Their rivalry runs on mutual respect disguised as trash talk: tied championships, sold-out headliner battles, and finally the blackout duet, sung unamplified in the dark. Static’s grudging compliments are Tansy’s most prized possessions. The city ships the rivalry; they ship the competition.

The Silence (conceptual)

Not a person — the thing Tansy fights. Empty rooms, dead air, the fear that the noise is all she is. Every performance is, in the lore’s quiet reading, Tansy winning one more round against it.
