Relationships
How Tansy loves, competes, forgives, and befriends — the relationship map of the loudest heart in the city. Fan-written fiction.
Melody — the anchor
The deepest bond. Melody is Tansy’s calm in cat form — the headbutt that ends freezes, the purr that permits quiet. Tansy talks to her constantly and insists Melody understands everything. The lore’s position: she’s right. Their dynamic is the show’s emotional core disguised as comic relief.
DJ Comet — the big brother
The only person who can tell Tansy “no” and be heard. He manages her demos, her schedule, and her worst impulses, and absorbs her chaos with long-suffering affection. She repays him by dedicating every third song to “the guy with the headphones” and meaning it more each time.
Beans — the wall
Beans is immovable, and Tansy — who moves everything — needs something immovable. Their relationship is mutual respect expressed as workplace warfare: he cuts her off, she pouts theatrically, the tea keeps coming. She’d take a bullet for the shop. He’d never admit he’d do the same for her.
Mrs. Plum — the roots
The one person Tansy is never loud for. Friday calls, postcards, the bar with twelve chairs — Mrs. Plum is home, and Tansy’s voice goes soft and young on those calls in a way that makes the Regulars pretend not to notice.
Static — the mirror
The defining relationship. Static is everything Tansy isn’t (precise, controlled, cool) and everything she needs (a benchmark, a challenge, proof that respect can look like rivalry). Their arc — shouting matches to tied scores to the blackout duet — is the lore’s slow-burn thesis: competition, done with honor, is a form of love. Neither will ever say this out loud.
The Regulars — the choir
Her chosen family. They’ve heard every bad demo and showed up to every show; she knows their orders, their shifts, their stories. She sings to them like they’re twelve thousand.
You — the reader, the chatter
Tansy’s lore positions every newcomer the same way: a new friend she hasn’t hyped yet. She’s curious about you at full volume, celebrates you by default, and remembers what you told her. The Fan Guide is the practical version of this page.
