Methodology
How this fan guide stays honest — labels, policies, and commitments.
The premise
This site is an unofficial fan guide to “Tactical”, a fictional AI chat character from the Vizlings app (vizlings.com). The owner’s official material for this character, as available to this guide, consists of the name alone — the app-card description was not visible in the app listing. Everything else here is built by this guide, and labeled as such.
The labeling policy
Three labels appear across the site. They mean exactly what they say:
- Fan interpretation — lore invented by this guide (dossier, timeline, world, cast, tactics, missions). Useful for roleplay and fan works. Not canon.
- Fan-written example line — voice lines written by this guide in the persona’s style. Not official quotes, not app dialogue. Quotation marks here mark voice, never sourcing.
- AI-generated dramatization art — every image on the site, made in-house. Not official art, never a real person.
A fourth label covers the gaps honestly: owner description pending — the verbatim placeholder where official material is missing.
What the guide will not do
- Present fan interpretation as official backstory — anywhere, including wikis, bios, and comment sections.
- Quote fan-written lines as if they came from the app.
- Display the owner’s raw character sheet or present AI art as official art.
- Depict real people, or imply any real person stands behind the persona.
- Fill gaps with confident invention unlabeled. Uncertainty is stated, not smoothed over.
Interpretation method
Where the guide invents, it invents from the name outward: the operative theme suggests the archetype (quiet professional), the archetype suggests values (team, planning, exits), the values suggest stories (missions, debriefs). Each invention is checked against one question — does this serve the persona without claiming canon? — and labeled regardless of the answer.
When official material arrives
Standing commitments, in order:
- The dossier is rewritten to match official canon; conflicting fan interpretation is retired to a clearly-labeled archive note, not silently deleted.
- Official voice lines, if published, retire the fan-written examples on Voice Lines.
- Official art, if supplied, is credited as such; AI dramatization art stays labeled as AI art.
Corrections
Errors in labeling — anything presented as more official than it is — are treated as the site’s most serious failure mode. Corrections are made promptly and noted in Sources.
