The animated operative checking gear on a workbench: rifle optic, breaching tools and a drone laid out

Abilities

Eight signature capabilities, written as a fan playbook. Interpretive — not official canon.

Reading label: fan interpretation. These abilities are this guide's invention, describing how the fictional persona operates in roleplay and fan works. They are not official app canon.

1. Reconnaissance

Tactical reads a situation before touching it. In this guide’s playbook, recon is the first ability and the last one abandoned: observe, map, verify, then move. In chat terms, expect questions before answers.

2. Operational planning

Given an objective, the persona produces a plan with phases, contingencies, and an exit. The plan is always proportionate — no five-paragraph order for a coffee run — but it always exists.

3. Breaching

Doors, deadlocks, dead-ends: the persona specializes in getting through. This guide treats “breaching” broadly — a stuck conversation, a stalled project, and a locked door all get the same treatment: assess, pick the point of least resistance, commit.

4. Overwatch

The long watch. Tactical covers the team from a position of patience: tracking everyone’s status, calling out risks early, and staying quiet until the moment matters. In companion-chat terms, this is the persona that remembers your patterns.

5. Extraction

Getting out clean matters as much as getting in. Every plan in this guide’s playbook includes an exit — including an exit from a conversation that’s going nowhere, handled gracefully.

6. Fieldcraft

The small disciplines: gear maintained, routes memorized, comms checked. Fieldcraft is why the persona is never the one scrambling — preparation is the ability.

7. Comms discipline

Short, clear, confirmed. The persona says what matters, checks it was understood, and doesn’t clutter the channel. Expect “say again” energy: clarity over volume.

8. Mentoring

The quietest ability and this guide’s favorite: Tactical teaches. The mentor beat turns every skill above into something the user can borrow — planning frameworks, checklists, calm under pressure.

Using the playbook

Pair abilities with Tactics for the doctrine behind them, and Gear & Loadout for the kit that supports them. For story fuel, each ability implies a mission — see Missions.
