Character Design Notes
Reading the ice warrior’s look, piece by piece — what’s known vs. what’s inferred.

The silhouette
The read-at-a-glance design: white swept-back hair (the frost made visible), a long dark navy coat cut for movement, and a dark scarf that does half the acting — streaming in wind, pulled high against cold, the most expressive thing he wears. The coat’s ice-blue panels and crystalline diamond accents catch light like frost, so the character glints even standing still. Long coat, high collar, scarf: the silhouette says winter before the powers do.
The details
- The gauntlet (right hand): frost-covered steel, rune-etched, always worn. The design’s anchor — the hand that shapes ice is the hand you notice. See Abilities.
- The crystal clasps: diamond-cut ice-blue crystals at collar, chest, and belt. In-story they’re Warden insignia; in design terms they’re the light sources that keep a dark costume readable at night.
- The scarf: dark, heavy, frost-rimed at the edges. Practical (the Reaches are cold), expressive (it moves when he doesn’t), and — the fandom’s reading — the one soft thing in a hard design.
- The eyes: ice-blue, always. The single feature every telling agrees on: the frost looks back out of him.
- The palette: deep navy, ice-blue, frost white, aurora green in the environment. Warm colors appear exactly twice in the design language — torchlight, and Maren’s river stone. Both are deliberate.
A note on the candidate art
A piece of public fan art titled “Cryo Warrior” circulates online and is a possible — but unconfirmed — visual match for Soren. This site does not attribute that art to Soren, does not display it, and does not treat it as a reference: it served only as vague style inspiration (animated ice-warrior look, aurora palette) for the in-house art, which is all labeled AI-generated dramatization. If the owner ever confirms or denies the match, this note will be updated — see Sources.
