Relics of the Wardens — and one warm stone. Invented fan lore.
The Frost Gauntlet
Soren’s constant companion: steel plates over a leather core, worn on the right hand, etched with throttle-runes that glow ice-blue under power. A relic of the First Wardens, fitted to Soren in his second year at Frosthold. Not a weapon but a governor — it meters his frostweaving so the power doesn’t spend him. He checks its straps the way other warriors check shield walls: constantly, and without thinking. See Abilities.
The Crown of the First Frost
Kept in the Vault of First Frost: a crown of translucent blue ice and silver, set with a single frost diamond that has never melted — not in the Vault’s cold, not, the tablets claim, in any heat ever brought near it. No one wears it; no one has. The Wardens’ law is the cold needs keepers, not kings, and the Crown is the law made visible: power, displayed, declined.
The Everfrost Shard
A shard of ice from the first Glacier Awakening the tablets record — centuries old, still cold enough to burn bare skin. Warden trainees touch it once, briefly, as a lesson: this is what the power feels like from the outside. Soren touched it as a boy and didn’t flinch, which Issolde recorded without comment and the fandom quotes constantly.
Maren’s river stone
Not a relic. Not magic. A smooth gray river stone, warm from a pocket, given to an eleven-year-old on a jetty — “to remember what warm feels like.” It sits on the sill of Soren’s cell at Frosthold, rides in his pocket on every patrol, and gets turned over in his hand in every quiet scene the lore writes. The fandom’s most beloved artifact, and the only one that isn’t cold. The oath’s last line — “I will remember warm” — is about this stone.
